Intense breakdown of Galatians 5 and Rev. 21
What follows is a breakdown of the fruit of the flesh and what Jesus mentions in Rev. 21. Paul clearly states in this passage that those who do these things will not inherit the Kingdom of God and Jesus says the same in Rev. The greek word "do" here means "practice, habitual, repeated". We are not talking about a single or couple of occurrences disqualifying you from the Kingdom. What we are talking about here is habitual or repeated manifestations of any of these "fruits of the flesh" (addictions) which indicates a heart in need of repentance and purification! This is not a message of condemnation it's a message of Love and restoration! I have defined these from Strong's Concordance. I encourage you ask the Holy Spirit to show you any of these that could be dealt with. Jesus is coming back for a spotless Bride!
Galations 5:19-21
Adultery- Lust or sexual activity with someone else while married (Matt 5:28 lust in heart is adultery)
Fornication- From por-ni'-ah, lust, to be a harlot/prostitute, lust/sex w/o marriage.
Uncleanness- homosexuality, masturbation…….morally lewd
Lasciviousness- Obscene or indecent sexual behavior or desire
**Based on these first four I would challenge anyone who would say that lust is acceptable in marriage and that anything goes in the marriage bed**
Idolatry- Anything held in a higher priority than God
Witchcraft- Medicine, sorcery, magic
Hatred- bitterness, unforgiveness
Variance- A quarreling heart, contention, debate and strife
Emulations- envy and jealousy
Wrath- passion, Impression of loosing control in anger, bitterness and unforgiveness (crime of passion)
Strife- Contentious heart, to provoke
Seditions- Cause dissention or division
Heresies- Err, deception that can lead to a faction or sect
Envying- Ill will or spite
Murders- to kill, premeditated from deep bitterness and unforgiveness
Drunkenness- intoxication, not just alcohol
Revellings- to just let loose with no moral consideration (south beach example)
-and such the like- things similar in appearance or character
Rev 21:8
Fearful- timid, dread implication is faithless
Unbelieving- without Christian faith, passivity, it is an active form, actively unbelieving
Liars- ANY untruth, deceit
These are the strongmen! Now we know their names so we can repent of them specifically, bind them specifically and cast them out specifically. Blessings,
